Joe Biden Joined Newsom In His Last Recall Election Campaign

President Biden spoke favorably of California’s Governor Gavin Newsom in the latter’s last campaign before the recent recall election. Biden landed in SoCal on September 13, 2021, and addressed supporters at LBCC (Long Beach City College). In the speech, Biden described the election as a GOP recall, a staple term in the recent campaign of Newsom, and compared Larry Elder of the Republican Party to erstwhile US President Trump.

Biden remarked that the leading GOP candidate in the running for the gubernatorial position was the closest to being a Donald Trump replica that he had seen in California. At the same time, Biden rhetorically asked the audience whether they could picture Elder as California’s next governor. Biden made the rhetorical statement to urge the audience to not allow the situation to emerge.

It was among the many criticisms against Elder. Governor Newsom also highlighted negative comparisons of the GOP candidate to Trump as well as a viral clip of him stating that there should have been reparations for American slaveowners as they lost their property.

Newsom asked the audience whether they saw the clip where Elder recommended the reparations as the latter reflected on California becoming America’s first state to start exploring reparations.

Elder seemed aggressive during his electoral campaign, as he brought forward actor cum activist Rose McGowan in a recent Los Angeles event. For your information, McGowan said that Governor Newsom’s spouse Jennifer Siebel Newsom tried to quieten her rape accusations against Producer Harvey Weinstein.

Lately, McGowan took to Twitter and claimed that Newsom’s wife tried to see and talk to her. However, McGowan canceled the meeting with the First Lady of California as she thought that her invitations were just false gestures. Through Twitter, McGowan also revealed that there exist connections between Boies Schiller Flexner, the law firm that represented Weinstein, herself and Newsom.

As per the AP (Associated Press), The Office of the First Partner described the accusations of McGowan as a case of complete fabrication. Meanwhile, Governor Newsom described Elder as a ‘desperate’ candidate and said that his bringing forward McGowan proves how low matters go in political campaigns.

Elder followed the actor during the event in LA and talked about how he had been treated in the campaign. Then, Elder addressed media stories that termed him sexist in connection with an article that he claimed he wrote over 20 years before. The article referenced a University of Pennsylvania study that considered women less knowledgeable regarding politics as compared to men as they used local media as a political resource.

Elder stated that he penned an article per week, totaling 1,200 articles, since April 1998. Elder wrote regarding the following.

  • The reality that more women were in college as compared to men;
  • With regard to law school and medical school, the percentage of women and men getting entrance was the same; and,
  • That women made more money as compared to men.

Despite the write-ups, Elder wondered why people not only referenced an article in which he quoted another person but also termed him sexist.
