LA County DA Takes Over Marilyn Manson Sexual Abuse Case

A sexual abuse investigation lasting 19 months by the County Sheriff’s Department of LA into Marilyn Manson has been transferred to DA George Gascón in order to arrive at a decision as to whether or not criminal charges should be filed against the singer.

The Special Victims Bureau happens to handle physical and sexual abuse investigations, and this authority submitted extensive investigation regarding the performer, whose given name is Brian Warner. This submission was done on Monday towards filing consideration. They also served a search warrant for his home in November.

According to what the sheriff’s investigators revealed last year, “The incidents occurred between 2009 and 2011 when Mr. Warner lived in the city of West Hollywood.” More than one woman has accused the musician of abuse both sexual and physical, each of which he has repeatedly denied. California’s statute of limitations regarding rape is 10 years, which means any charges leveled against the singer would be based on what type of offense is in question, as well as how far back it happened.

“Once we have received the case, it will be carefully evaluated by experienced prosecutors to determine if it is appropriate to file charges at this time,” Gascón held last week. “The district attorney is committed to investing in trauma-informed care for all victims of sexual assault, abuse, and intimate partner violence. We understand how difficult it may be to come forward as a victim, especially when the case involves this level of notoriety, and are dedicated to treating all victims with the highest level of care and respect.”

At the time that the allegations were brought against Manson, Evan Rachel Wood of HBO’s “Westworld” fame was dating him. The pair got engaged in 2010 before their split. Last year, Wood as well as several other women brought public accusations against Manson of abuse.

“He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years,” read Wood’s pertinent messages on Instagram. “I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail.”

In 2018, at the time of the #MeToo movement’s rise, Wood had given her testimony before a congressional committee regarding the abuse she had suffered from an unnamed partner.

Manson, despite denying these allegations, suffered the severance of his working relationship with his record label when the allegations mounted. He sued Wood in March, and also took against artist Illma Gore. The case in LA County Superior Court accused the two of fraud, defamation, and conspiracy.

Manson is also facing a lawsuit on the federal level which alleges he was involved in battery and sexual assault and human trafficking. This particular suit was filed by actor Esmé Bianco last year, who alleges she was raped as well as sleep deprived. She also claims she was subjected to forced labor following Manson offering to assist her in obtaining a work visa.

Manson rose to fame in the mid-‘90s, and this rise was based in part on an extreme persona which was highly controversial, as well as giving birth to albums like “Antichrist Superstar” in 1996.
